The 37th ASEAN Tourism Forum which was held from the 22nd – 26th January 2018 was successfully concluded at the Chiang Mai Exhibition and Convention Centre. This convention centre is located in close proximity to many Chiang Mai hotel options the likes of Anantara Chiang Mai Resort.
The event was organised by Thailand for the sixth time under the theme of “ASEAN-Sustainable Connectivity, Boundless Prosperity”. It is the biggest travel trade event in the ASEAN region and this time it was held in Chiang Mai in order to create more jobs in the rural areas and to promote secondary destinations.
The seven-day-long event includes a meeting of the National Tourism organisations and ASEAN Tourism Ministers, private sector groups representing ASEAN hotels, travel agents, airlines, restaurants, tour operators and joint meetings with China, Russia, South Korea, India and Japan.
