Like in the rest of the world, the tourism industry in Qatar was also severely affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is slowly beginning to pick up as the country entered the fourth phase of its systematic reopening plan on 1st September 2020; as part of this phase, wedding parties and other large gatherings are now allowed, while cinemas and theatres can reopen too.

While domestic tourism has picked up, it’s hoped that international arrivals will increase as well; with some of the best hotels in Qatar including properties the likes of Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli offering a range of accommodation options and exclusive packages, tourists have much to enjoy. Additionally, the Qatar National Tourism Council recently launched the Qatar Summer Programme which features various activities, outdoor experiences and hospitality deals for residents too.
