Tourism Quality Standards Set Up in Abu Dhabi – Business Sector Also Preparing for Growth

In April this year, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi announced that it would be establishing the Tourism Quality Standards and Licensing Framework following an initial trial period. As part of the framework, there will be 10 quality standards manuals covering a diverse range of tourism-related attractions, products and services that are expected to improve through this initiative. From luxury resorts to business hotels, Abu Dhabi also has excellent accommodation options at properties like Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara which will serve to enhance the sector too.

The business sector is also expected to receive a boost; after an amendment to the Commercial Companies Law on 1st June 2021 by the Department of Economic Development, foreign ownership has been fully opened up. This move means that now, in the UAE, companies with 100% foreign ownership can be established. This is expected to lead to growth in this sector and help with economic recovery following the pandemic.
