Tourist arrivals expected to cross 500,000 next month – Travelling to your favourite tropical destination

The Maldives, following reopening its boundaries for international visitors, received 555,494 tourists in 2020. This number of arrivals was crossed by this year’s figures when the country received 500,000+ travellers from all around the world by the end of July 2021. The rate of increasing the arrival figures faced fluctuations in the middle when the Delta and the Indian variant of the Covid 19 virus were announced officially by the global health organizations.

The country receives an average arrival figure of 1843 currently, and the travel experts believe that this will gradually increase with time. Air flights, as well as resorts such as Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, are likely to receive last-minute bookings and this has become quite a trend amidst the pandemic. However, every beach villa in Maldives is ready to welcome travellers for blissful and safe holidays with the best of health and safety measures in place.
