Tourist Arrivals in April Reach 15 Year Record High – The Maldives gets more Popular!

With the growing world economy, the tourism sector seems to be flourishing especially in the east. It is no different for the Maldives which offers whole islands for an unforgettable escape in paradise. Taking the figures for this year, tourism increased by a percentage of 36.2 as at April 2019. This is the highest increase recorded since the tsunami hit the Indian Ocean in 2004.

With a total of 646,092 visitors, some of the best hotels in Maldives saw an increase in room occupancy rates. Resorts such as Adaaran Club Rannalhi saw an increase in guests from China, Italy, Germany, and the UK. The Tourism Minister of the Maldives stated that the average duration of stays and arrivals from the top 10 target markets had positive growth in the month of April. The Maldives is also growing popular among Indians.  Recently, 90,000 Indian tourists have visited the islands including a few celebrities as well.
