Tourist arrivals in first 13 days of March exceed 50,000 – Sri Lanka on the path to success in the tourism industry

The month of March started off amazingly for Sri Lanka’s tourism sector this year with more than 53, 838 arrivals within just the first two weeks. This also exceeds the year-to-date arrivals compared to last year. The first week saw 27,573 and the second week brought in 26,265 as per the data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

Many Pasikuda beach hotels the likes of Theme Resorts & Spas have recorded an influx of Russian visitors followed by a high number of Indian visitors as well. The tourism sector saw a hike in earnings as well compared to last year. Earnings rose up to $330 million. Sri Lanka is now confident that the country will be able to reach its goal of 105,000 arrivals for this month.
