Tourist Arrivals in Singapore Double in 2023 – Remarkable Tourism Rerugence Continues

In a significant indicator of global travel resurgence, Singapore witnessed a remarkable surge in international visitor arrivals last year. According to a CNBC news report dated February 1, 2024, the city-state welcomed a staggering 13.6 million tourists in 2023, more than doubling the figure from the previous year, which stood at 6.3 million in 2022. Notably, the surge in arrivals was primarily driven by visitors from Indonesia, with China and Malaysia following closely behind as the top three tourism source markets.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) remains optimistic about the continued recovery in 2024, citing factors such as the introduction of a 30-day visa-free travel agreement with China and the expansion of international flight capacity and connectivity. With tourists displaying renewed interest in exploring this vibrant destination, attractive hotel promotions in Singapore are further enhancing the appeal of leisure vacations and business trips alike. This includes opportunities to stay at esteemed properties like Grand Park City Hall, offering guests an exceptional experience in the Lion City.

Buoyed by this positive momentum, Singapore aims to welcome between 15 to 16 million international visitors this year, injecting an estimated S$26 billion to S$27.5 billion into the local economy.
