Tourist arrivals to the Maldives cross 100,000 for a straight eighth month in 2022 – a steady increase in tourist arrivals

Tourist arrivals in the Maldives always seem to be getting better and better since the pandemic was brought under control. For the 8th month in a row this year, the islands have welcomed more than 100,000 visitors. In August, the Maldives arrivals amounted to 131,863. The number of average arrivals on a daily basis is said to be 4296.

Kandolhu Maldives and many a Maldives resort have also seen a spike in occupancy rates. Statistics from the Tourism Ministry of Maldives state that the highest number of arrivals are from which accounts for 14.2% of the total. The second highest number of arrivals came from the UK which is 11.4%. This is a great opportunity for new hotels and resorts that recently opened in order to build a solid client base with good reviews.
