Beginning from 1st October 2022, tourists to Thailand have the chance to enjoy visa extensions as per a special scheme launched by the local government to encourage longer holidays. Applicable between October this year to 31st March 2023, this initiative features two aspects; the 15-day visa on arrival available for passport holders of certain nations has been extended to 30 days, while those eligible for visa exemptions can extend their stay from 30 days to 45 days. As an added boost for tourism, travellers from nations that have a bilateral agreement with Thailand such as Hong Kong, Argentina, Russia, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Cambodia can enter without a visa.
With such extensions on visas, more tourists are expected over the next few months including in the Thai capital, a popular destination for business and leisure. Such travellers can look to stay at a hotel in Sukhumvit, Bangkok, that features strict health and sanitisation protocols; these include properties like Gardina Asoke Hotel & Residence within easy reach of the best the city has to offer.
