Trans-Tasman Travel Bubble Benefits Wellington – Key City Events Also Coming Up

The city of Wellington was amongst the destinations that benefited from the launch of the Trans-Tasman travel bubble between New Zealand and Australia on 19th April this year. In the first month, Wellington Airport welcomed 19,000 Aussie travellers, while data has revealed that they spent a lot in the city as well. Subsequently, on 31st May 2021, New Zealand launched its tourism campaign in Australia titled “Wellington Welcome” showcasing the best of the city.

While the stop-start nature of the Trans-Tasman travel bubble has been a setback, it will be hoped that more Australian tourists will head to Wellington. Apart from local attractions, visitors will be able to enjoy many upcoming events too; this includes the World of WearableArt (WOW) Show (30th September – 17th October) at the TSB Arena and Friends! The Musical Parody (10th October) at The Opera House, close to some of the best hotels in Wellington. Such properties include Oaks Wellington Hotel, walking distance from the Michael Fowler Centre that will host the Guilty Feminist Live (21st October).
