Travel Agents Association of India Convention in Sri Lanka

Supporting Bilateral Tourism

This year the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) held their convention in the neighbouring nation of Sri Lanka. Also referred to as the India Travel Congress, the event took place from 19th to 22nd April 2022 and offered a boost for bilateral tourism. The 66th edition of the TAAI convention took greater significance this year as it came in the wake of the pandemic; both nations are looking to get their respective tourism industries back on track and it is believed that such an event will help to improve tourism and travel at a macro level too.

India continues to be an important source market for Sri Lanka which is offering quarantine-free entry for fully vaccinated tourists; such travellers can enjoy safe stays around the island be it in coastal areas, the hill country or a Cultural Triangle-based Kandalama hotel; this includes properties like Heritance Kandalama that are not only certified as “Safe & Secure” but also focus on eco-friendly tourism.
