Travel Restrictions Between Mauritius and Reunion To Be Eased

According to a press release issued in February, the travel restrictions between Réunion Island, a French department in the Indian Ocean, South Africa, and Mauritius will be revoked. The Reunion prefecture announced that the travel between these destinations is based on the general principle provided for the colour zone to which each destination belongs: The Orange category for Mauritius and South Africa. The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) stated that the easing of restrictions by the prefecture relieved the Mauritian tourist operators as they are already readying to welcome tourists to the island again. As stated by Arvind Bundhun, CEO of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, the Reunion market plays a crucial role in Mauritius tourism and they are happy that the decision has been reviewed. Situated next to spectacular beaches like Blue Bay, Mauritius Hotels such as the elegant Anantara Iko Mauritius are looking forward to welcoming more visitors from Reunion and other parts of the world.
