Travel Trends Among Bengalureans Shifts: New Destinations Gain Traction

Travel trends among Bengalureans are evolving, according to travel companies in the city. While established favourites like Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore remain popular, Vietnam and Turkey have emerged as sought-after destinations in the past year. Interestingly, travel to Sri Lanka has also seen a rise, driven by interest in the Ramayana trail.

Experts attribute the growing popularity of Turkey to its unique blend of European and Asian vibes, especially amidst challenges in obtaining visas for some European countries. Thailand’s established appeal lies in its visa-on-arrival convenience, nightlife, and beaches. Vietnam, with its ease of visa acquisition and unexplored charm, is also witnessing a surge in bookings. For budget-conscious travellers, Bali and Vietnam offer attractive options due to their affordability and proximity to nature. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Ramayana trail caters to a specific religious tourism segment, with visitors shacking up at Kandy City hotels the likes of Hotel Topaz to set off on their exploration. Additionally, destinations like Azerbaijan, Georgia, Seychelles, and Christian pilgrimage tours in Europe are gaining traction. Overall, Bengalureans are becoming increasingly adventurous in their travel choices, seeking diverse experiences beyond traditional favourites. This shift reflects a growing desire to explore new cultures, landscapes, and historical sites.
