Travelling to Thailand in 2022 Made Easier – Enjoy the Best of the Country Once More

Looking to get tourism back on track, Thailand resumed offering fully vaccinated travellers quarantine-free entry this year through its Test & Go and Sandbox programmes which were re-commenced in February 2022. A month on, on 1st March, the entry requirements were eased further; while the day one RT-PCR test remained, the required day five RT-PCR test was replaced with a self-test via an Antigen Test Kit. Furthermore, the previous minimum mandatory health insurance coverage was brought down from US$50,000 to US$20,000.

The tourism industry was given a further boost when it was announced that from 1st April 2022, international travellers were no longer required to show a negative RT-PCR test on arrival. This bodes well for the country as it looks to encourage more tourists to visit this year; such travellers can not only experience the best it has to offer but also choose from safe accommodation at a resort or hotel; Khon Kaen is one such destination where one can visit and stay at an SHA+ certified property like Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre that has adopted stringent health and hygiene protocols.
