Travelling to the Maldives During COVID-19 – What You Need to Know Before You Go!
Travellers who have been completely vaccinated will no longer have to produce a negative COVID-19 test when they arrive at the Maldives. The country eased its COVID-19 curbs on Saturday, 5th March, by scrapping off pre-departure PCR testing for completely vaccinated tourists off their list of entry requirements. Moreover, vaccinated tourists who visit residential islands, as opposed to resort islands and Maldives restaurants offered by the likes of Milaidhoo Island Maldives, will not have to go through PCR testing before their departure from the Maldives.
A traveller health declaration form must be filled by all travellers to the Maldives 48 hours prior to their arrival and departure from the Maldives. The second doses must have been administered prior to a minimum of 14 days before arrival. Booster jabs aren’t required; however, unvaccinated travellers must still produce negative PCR tests that were taken within 96 hours of departure to the Maldives.
