Tunisia’s tourism industry is experiencing a welcome resurgence, with ambitious goals set for 2024. The country is aiming to hit 10 million tourist arrivals by year’s end, buoyed by a strong start to the season.
As of 10th June 2024, Tunisia had already welcomed 3.37 million visitors, reflecting a significant 5.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This positive trend bodes well for the tourism sector, which plays a vital role in the Tunisian economy, contributing 9% to the country’s GDP and providing nearly 400,000 jobs.
In Tunisia, luxury hotels continue to be a key accommodation choice for global travellers looking to enjoy high-end experiences and the best of this destination. Attractions such as the historical ruins of Carthage and the UNESCO-protected Medina of Tunis within easy reach of properties like The Residence Tunis remain key allures that are driving this increase in travellers. With these places of interest and more on offer, Tunisia is poised to maintain its momentum and achieve its ambitious target of 10 million visitors by the end of 2024.
