Following the pandemic, Tunisia’s tourism industry has been on the resurgence with an influx of travellers visiting once more. The signs for 2025 are positive indeed, as highlighted on the economic and financial news website, African Manager, on 14th January 2025; the tourism sector generated over $2.4 billion last year, which offered a significant boost to the local economy as well. What is also worth noting is that this was an increase of 8.3% compared to the figure from 2023.
With over 10 million travellers being welcomed in 2024, another promising year for tourism is expected. In Tunisia, luxury hotels continue to be a popular draw, with those by the coast, like The Residence Tunis, providing the ideal base for relaxation, adventure and cultural discoveries. A key highlight would be the eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the famed ruins of ancient Carthage and the historic Medina of Tunis. With other attractions like Sidi Bou Said Village and the scenic 18-hole Residence Golf Course also on offer, this destination can no doubt expect more eager visitors in the months to come.
