Turkish Company to Build Maldives’ Largest Mosque

The proposed new mosque is anticipated accommodate up to six-thousand worshippers and will be the largest of its kind in the island nation. The project is funded by Saudi Arabia and is being built by a Turkish contractor who is currently constructing three other facilities in the country. The mosque is scheduled to open sometime in October 2018, and following its completion will have a total of six floors featuring a library, multi-purpose assembly halls and a conference.
