Turkish Company to Construct Largest Mosque in Maldives – A Special Religious Site

Turmaks, a well known contractor based in Turkey, is in the process of building what will be the largest mosque in the Maldives. The project which is expected to be completed by next October will see the addition of a significant landmark to the country. This will no doubt add to the appeal for tourists looking to experience some local culture while on a luxury holiday. Maldives has, in fact, become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world with properties the likes of Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas providing varied accommodation options and leisure experiences. The new Saudi Arabian-funded mosque will be known as the King Salman Mosque and will be able to hold up to 6,000 worshippers. Featuring 6 floors, this sacred site will also feature a conference room, versatile assembly halls and a library. Apart from the mosque, Turmaks is also involved in other building projects in the country including the 200-bed Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale.
