Two Million Visitors Expected in the Maldives Next Year – Tourism Continues to Boom

According to Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, the Tourism Minister of the Maldives, the country is expecting to attract two million travellers in 2023; this was put in the spotlight on the AVAS Online website on 29th September 2022; it was further revealed that this popular tropical destination is hoping to achieve stays of 14.5 million nights next year too. The minister made these comments at the 55th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank and he further added that the country was on track to reach its 2022 goal of 1.6 million tourists.

Amongst the reasons for the expected increase in arrivals next year, is that Chinese tourists are likely to be travelling again following the pandemic while planning holidays here. The destination continues to draw holidaymakers from around the world who can enjoy stays at the best Maldives all-inclusive resorts; these include private island properties like OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi that offers safe accommodation and all the key experiences to be enjoyed in this Indian Ocean nation.
