While COVID-19 caused a halt in the tourism industry back in 2020, some countries emerged from this black hole stronger than before, in the year 2022, when the UAE was declared the most recovered nation in the travel industry. As tourists rushed into hotels and suites in Dubai, with hopes of reigniting their paused vacations, the country’s tourism faced a staggering growth in numbers. As reported on the National News online website on the 7th of April 2022, Travelport, a travel technology company discovered that the UAE has recovered 110% from its 2019 travel percentages to their lodgings like Oaks Liwa Heights.
With a line-up of exciting events such as the Dubai Expo 2020, along with an effective and successful vaccination drive, tourists were made aware that the country was a safe space to travel to. As travel restrictions too eased for fully vaccinated tourists when the PCR requirement was eliminated, travellers flocked to the UAE in numbers for a well-deserved recreation in the gulf.
