Uganda Airlines Launches Direct Flights to Zanzibar to Boost East African Tourism

Connecting safaris to beaches – East Africa’s travel made seamless.

Uganda Airlines is set to strengthen regional tourism with a new direct flight route from Entebbe to Zanzibar, starting in August 2025. Operating three times a week, the service promises to enhance accessibility to Zanzibar’s northern coast, including the iconic Nungwi Beach, while connecting travellers from Uganda’s renowned safari destinations.

The route is expected to encourage multi-destination travel in East Africa, offering a smooth blend of adventure and relaxation. Tour operators in both Uganda and Zanzibar can now create seamless itineraries that combine inland safaris with coastal escapes, fostering sustainable and culturally immersive tourism.

Visitors looking for premium stays on the island may explore options such as The Residence Zanzibar, a leading and preferred boutique hotel in Zanzibar, providing luxury and comfort close to pristine beaches.

With this initiative, Uganda Airlines not only boosts tourism connectivity but also supports economic growth and long-term development across East Africa’s travel and hospitality sectors.
