UK lifts Covid-19 travel advisory for the Maldives – A gradual return to normality

The sudden surge in the Covid cases in May had the UK include the Maldives in its Red List. However, the country decided to remove the travel advisory for the Maldives and consequently place the country on its Amber List, which was what the Maldives had been eagerly waiting for.

British nationals are now allowed to travel between the two countries provided that they are fully vaccinated. As a result, reminiscent of the post-pandemic era, the Maldives has begun to experience high volumes of travellers from the UK, and some of the best hotels in Maldives are once again fully occupied. It should also be noted that hotels such as Adaaran Club Rannalhi have implemented numerous preventive measures, making sure guests are not exposed to the threat of the virus during their tropical vacation in the Maldives.
