The picturesque Unawatuna Beach on the island of Sri Lanka was amongst the names highlighted in the online edition of the Hindustan Times on 31st March 2022 as part of its “6 pristine international beach destinations”. The list featured countries where tourists can now visit for coastal getaways; when it came to Sri Lanka, the south coast city of Galle home to a historical fort was mentioned along with nearby Unawatuna Beach with its soft, golden sands and broad bay.
