Vietnam Proposes Visa Waivers – Aims To Boost Tourism

Vietnam is considering offering visa-free entry to tourists from additional countries as part of its efforts to boost tourism and economic growth. The proposal aims to make it easier for visitors to travel to Vietnam and explore its stunning landscapes, via road, river or renowned Vietnam train travel, as well as cultural experiences and world-famous cuisine. The move will follow similar visa schemes implemented by its neighbouring countries this year, including Thailand and Indonesia, which have experienced significant growth in tourism numbers since.

By waiving visa requirements, Vietnam hopes to attract more international tourists and contribute to the recovery of its tourism industry. This move aligns with the government’s goal of positioning Vietnam as a top tourist destination in Southeast Asia. Currently, the nation offers a 45-day visa-free stay for citizens from 13 countries, which include several European and East Asian nations.

The specific countries that will be eligible for visa-free entry will be announced in the near future. This initiative is expected to contribute to the country’s economic development and have a positive impact on its tourism sector, with hospitality chains and travel experiences, such as The Vietage By Anantara, benefiting from the initiative.
