Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City to Blossom into a Full-fledged Smart City

With a myriad of business opportunities springing up during the pandemic-driven past few months, Vietnam and its thriving business capital, Saigon, stood out as a more prominent and attractive destination in the fast-growing Southeast Asian region. The country’s economy has withstood the tests of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has been resilient ever since the Vietnam War ended in the late 1970s. The country also boasts of a forward-thinking government that has been striving to transform the country’s economy into an e-commerce platform; hence, online business will grow by approximately 43% within the next five years. However, this will not eliminate the importance of the face-to-face meeting element of business relationships; thus, many Ho Chi Minh City hotels the likes of PARKROYAL Saigon can expect a high demand for their all-inclusive meeting venues.

The Vietnamese government is also overseeing a plan to transform the country’s business capital, Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, into a fully-fledged smart city, the first of its kind in Vietnam. It has been confirmed by the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam that Saigon has already initiated steps to modernise the country’s business and technology hub.
