Visa Duration to Be Extended for Tourists Visiting Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has extended its tourist visa duration from 1 month to 6 months as an initiative to boost its tourism sector. The country faced a great loss of income due to the pandemic travel restrictions and lockdown, and the recovery has not been easy. Single-entry visas are to be extended up to 270 days while multiple-entry visas can be extended up to one year. The Tourism Ministry has made it possible to apply for these extensions via the online visa application portal.

With longer stays becoming possible, remote workers and travel enthusiasts are already considering booking popular hotels in Mirissa such as Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa, which has become a crowd-favourite choice of accommodation in Mirissa – well in advance.
