Providing happy news to all Maldives resort owners, Citizens of Russia can now stay in the paradise island of the Maldives for 90 days on tourist trips and in transit without the Visa requirement previously was applicable. As the agreement has been a bilateral one, the same benefit will be applicable for citizens of the Maldives when they travel to Russia as well.
The Maldives being a popular tourist destination for Russians, tourist resorts the likes of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort and travel agencies are expected to reap good results from this initiative the most, and according to the Maldivian authorities, the next initiatives will also focus on attracting more export businesses to the country, thus adding strength on the Maldivian economy at large.
