The ‘Visit Maldives’ team recently launched an art competition to promote the natural beauty of the country to the world. They had named the contest ‘Thasveeru: Maldives Through Art’ and the competition was open to local as well as an international talent. The competition was open for general paintings, digital art as well as mixed-media illustrations. The competition consisted of an initial judging process and then the selected ones were presented for a public voting round.
The organizing committee believes that their objective was fulfilled through this competition, and the response received was beyond expectations. This is also a great encouragement to the tourist community to come and see the Maldives even amidst the pandemic because it has been declared a safe destination by the world tourism authorities. Every Maldives resort the likes of Kurumba Maldives is ready to serve international travellers with the best safety precautions.
