The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation, also known as Visit Maldives, participated in the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Cannes 2023 in December to showcase the country’s luxury experiences. Eight companies from the Maldives’ luxury tourism sector, including Bliss Maldives, Amilla Fushi, Cora Cora Maldives, and others, presented their offerings at the event. The Maldives, renowned for its ultimate luxury destination status, strategically targets affluent segments to maintain its premium image in major markets.
In 2023, the top 10 markets for the Maldives included Russia, India, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. Till November 29, 2023, the Maldives recorded 1,678,639 tourists, reflecting a 9.41% increase compared to the previous year. The Maldives received prestigious awards at the World Travel Awards, including World’s Leading Destination and World’s Leading Tourist Board for the second consecutive year, no doubt thanks to the luxury resort in Maldives being a popular reason to visit, with many offerings such as the NH Collection Maldives.
