The Demodara 9 Arches Bridge is a massive railway connection which is located between the Demodara and Ella railway stations. The construction of the bridge, which commenced during the British Raj was taken over and completed by a local resident by the name of Mr P.K. Appuhamy and his team.  A testament to local architectural ingenuity, the bridge has been constructed using only cement, bricks and stones sans any steel.

Currently, the bridge and the surrounding areas, especially many Badulla and Bandarawela hotels have experienced a steady influx of tourists and photographers who flock there to take in the picturesque vistas.
