‘We Create Drama’ Film Festival Held by Paramount Hotel Dubai – A Triumph of Talent & Creativity

The third season of the prestigious ‘We Create Drama’ film festival, hosted by Paramount Hotel Dubai, concluded with a resounding success in June. This annual event showcased the finest short films crafted by talented filmmakers from across the United Arab Emirates. For the selection process, a panel of industry experts carefully chose the top nine scripts to be brought to life from over 60 submissions. The shortlisted filmmakers were provided with all the necessary resources and equipment to transform their visions into reality; a key condition was that filming had to take place within this 5-star hotel in Dubai City in a 24-hour period. The festival also featured insightful workshops, panel discussions, and sessions focused on the integration of AI in filmmaking.

The culmination of this creative endeavour was a glamorous award ceremony that brought together renowned industry figures, emerging talents, and up-and-coming filmmakers. ‘The Vision’ emerged as the winner for Best Film and Best Screenplay, while ‘Determined’ garnered awards for Best Cinematography, Best Director for Rosella Age and Joe Alexander, and Best Actor for Victor Sant’annah. Meanwhile, Somaya Kubeisy was recognised for her outstanding performance in ‘Dinner for Two,’ securing the Best Actress award.

Preparations are already underway for season four of ‘We Create Drama’ as this Dubai hotel continues to foster creativity and provide a platform for aspiring filmmakers in the region to showcase their talent.
