The Department of Wildlife Conservation states that tourism is the third highest income earner that provides for foreign exchange in the island, as wildlife is a rather integral part of the tourism industry. Sri Lanka Wildlife tours, the likes of Nature Odyssey, are also aspects that contribute to the wildlife industry.

The launch of e-passes for national parks was much needed, as previously tourists had to wait in line for hours to get into a national park and experience the diverse wildlife Sri Lanka boasts. In response to the complaints that kept piling, the e-ticketing booking service puts an end to any ticket related issue that tourists might face. The launch of the e-pass is truly a milestone for the wildlife department in Sri Lanka.
