Every Christmas, the Hong Kong Tourism Administration hosts its annual Hong Kong Winter Festival, aimed at attracting both locals and tourists alike. The festivities entail colorfully lit up streets, sales and discounts at retail stores, delicious treats to be devoured and, of course, the highly-anticipated countdown to the New Year.
In addition to the merry sound of Christmas carols and the extravagant fireworks displays, one of the more popular attractions at the festival, is the large, man-made dandelion standing tall at a staggering 49 feet, which is on display at Statue Square. Some of the major venues for this Winter Festival include Disneyland, Ocean Park and many more.
For those interested in diverting a good portion of their funds to holiday shopping, a budget hotel in Hong Kong, such as the Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong among many others, would not be unwelcome when looking for accommodation during this time of year.
