Organised by the Port Douglas community, the annual Macrossan Street Parade has always been the main highlight of the Port Douglas Carnival and regularly draws large crowds, both local and foreign. Set to a different theme each year, this year’s parade takes visitors into the tropics with “Wonders of The Reef 2017”. A thrilling line up of events are scheduled to take place along with a range of activities for adults and kids alike. Aside from being a project that aims at creating a tight-knit community, the yearly event is also a tourism event, which regularly fills up popular Port Douglas apartments – accommodation much like the Oaks Lagoons, for example, is always booked ahead for the fun carnival. The Macrossan Street Parade will kick off on 26th May, at 6:30pm, followed by an outstanding firework display.
