Providing participants a chance to listen to and interact with four renowned British authors, Words on the Mount is a much anticipated literary event taking place at Mount Lavinia Hotel. Scheduled to be held on 9th July (Saturday) and 10th July (Sunday), the programme line-up at this hotel Colombo has to offer along the coast will include literary performances by Peter Grimsdale, Rohan Candappa, Stephanie Calman and Louis de Bernières author of global bestseller ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.’ Day one of Words on the Mount will see the four British authors speak on the genres they write on, while day two will feature many events for aspiring authors both young and old. The schedule on day two includes activities and workshops for kids hosted by children’s illustrator and author Nicholas Allan who will be joined by Sri Lankan, Angela Seneviratne. For older attendees there will be four master-classes in writing conducted by the four British authors, while a special segment on local writing will see the participation of Ashok Ferrey, Shehan Karunatilaka and Lal Medawattegedara.
