Wellness spas are one of the many elements in the hospitality sector that has managed to thrive during recent years thanks to the improving world economy. The World Spa Awards initiated as a result of growing demand from the spa industry for a transparent event. The best Spas in the world were announced at a flashy gathering in the Maldives with pioneers of the industry attending the gala event.
The best spas in the world had a red-carpet reception on the island. Many Maldives luxury resorts took away awards for their world-class spas. Erich Schulte, the founder of QMS Medicosmetics, received a special award for his outstanding contribution to the industry with research on skin care. The 2018 World Spa Awards Spa Pioneer was awarded to Schulte. Many hotels such as Naladhu Private Island Maldives have potential to enter next year’s awards list in the Maldives as well.
