Underlining its global popularity, the Maldives was included in six major categories at last month’s World Travel Awards 2019. Reaffirming the country’s allure as a key destination for romance it was nominated for both the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination 2019 and the World’s Most Romantic Destination 2019. Maldives island resorts continue to be a favourite amongst couples with properties the likes of Huvafen Fushi Maldives providing ideal wedding venues and honeymoon getaways.

Additionally, the myriad of coral reefs and marine species that can be found here has made it a top choice for divers and was mirrored in the nomination for the World’s Leading Dive Destination 2019. The World’s Leading Destination 2019, World’s Leading Island Destination 2019 and the World’s Leading Tourist Board 2019 were the other categories the Maldives was nominated for at the World Travel Awards 2019.
