When taking a look at the 2016 Maldives inbound travel figures for the year, it can be clearly seen that there’s a very visible and obvious rise in the number of visitors from the United Kingdom. In fact, within just the first eight months itself, there has been a jump by 11 percent.
With Visit Maldives making a more recent announcement about further developments that are coming soon to the forefront in 2017, the number of inbound travellers is expected to rise further this year.
With plenty of Maldives island resorts spread out across the islands, such as the Naladhu Maldives Resort by Anantara, the introduction of the new Gan International Airport will surely be helpful in handling the ever-growing crowds at the Male International Airport.
