World’s First “Elfie” Elephant Selfie in Thailand

You have definitely taken loads of Selfies but have you ever taken an ‘Elfie’? Well 22-year old Christian LeBlanc while holidaying in Thailand got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of being part of the World’s First Ever Elfie!  Now what’s and Elfie you ask? An ‘Elfie’ is the Selfie of an elephant! LeBlanc’s special Elfie was taken by an elephant residing in a park in a Thai Island. Elephants are a major part of Thailand’s tourism as each year millions of tourists flock to Thailand in the hopes of interacting with Asian elephants. Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, a renowned name among Chiang Rai hotels, is one of the best places in Thailand to experience the majesty of these giants as the resort has its own famed on-site elephant camp, and who knows you might be able to get your very own Elfie here!

Speaking about the experience of being part of the World’s First Elfie, LeBlanc told CNN, “My girlfriend and I were exploring the island when we came across a couple elephants, for 50 cents, you could buy a basket of bananas to feed them, so we decided to get one.” However, after the couple started feeding the elephants, one of them decided what was on offer wasn’t enough and started ferreting for more food with its trunk. “Next thing I knew, it grabbed my GoPro by the mount and I got the selfie of a lifetime, which I can’t take full credit for,” LeBlanc speaking to CNN said.
