WTA Thailand Open 2020 Held in Hua Hin
A Highlight for Local Tennis Fans
The WTA Thailand Open 2020 was recently held in Hua Hin and featured some of the top players of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). This tennis tournament ran from 10th to 16th February and was hosted at the True Arena within easy reach of Avani+ Hua Hin Resort. Local and foreign tennis fans who stayed at a nearby resort in Hua Hin had the chance to not only witness singles action but doubles as well.
Hailing from the Ukraine, Dayana Yastremska who was last year’s champion was back again to defend her title, while fellow country woman Elina Svitolina, who ranks No.5 in the world was also present. Other key players who were in action included former World No.4, Samantha Stosur from Australia, World No. 41,Saisai Zheng from China and Thailand’s very own Tamarine Tanasugarn. It was notable that all ticketing revenue for the WTA Thailand Open 2020 was donated to support the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation.
