WTTC Grants Global Safety Stamp to Maldives

Country Gains ‘Safe Travels’ Label

In what will surely encourage tourists to visit the Maldives, the country was awarded the “Safe Travels Stamp” this September by the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC). This stamp is an indication to travellers on what destinations are deemed “safe” to travel to since they are following strict guidelines and protocols in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This comes at the right time as well since in the Maldives, island resorts are systematically reopening after the lifting of border restrictions. Properties the likes of Dhigali Maldives are also keeping to the stringent health and hygiene guidelines in place and tourists can look forward to a worry-free holiday. The Safe Travels Stamp by the World Travel Tourism Council is the first of its kind and has been approved and adopted by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) as well.
