The well renowned Yala National Park which is considered as one of the best and the most visited parks in Sri Lanka experienced a drought season during the month of October. The park was closed to the public as there were a scarcity of water and food for the animals. However tourists could go on excursions yet again as the park is blessed with rain. The lush green habitat is home to varieties of wildlife ranging from the endangered Sri Lankan Panthera Pardus Kotiya, sloth bears, herds of elephants and various other species of fauna and flora.
