Year of Culture and Tourism Between Greece & China – Events to Begin in May

May 2021 will see the beginning of what is being called the “Year of Culture and Tourism” between Greece and China; this is according to an online article published on 27th January this year by Athens-based newspaper, Kathimerini. It also highlighted that Lina Mendoni, the Greek Culture and Sports Minister had met with Zhang Qiyue, the Chinese Ambassador to Greece, to discuss various events between the two nations.

Spanning from May 2021 to May 2022, this period will see both Greece and China initiate projects linked with culture and tourism, expand bilateral cooperation and exchange exhibits between museums. It will be hoped that tourism will also soon begin to operate freely once the global COVID-19 pandemic has been brought under control; from historical attractions and cultural adventures to safe accommodation options be it at Beijing or Xiamen hotels including properties like Pan Pacific Xiamen, China has much to offer tourists from Greece.
