An event that promoted and celebrated the ancient, holistic approach to health and wellbeing, the Yoga Day Festival 2017 was held on the 18th of June 2017. Hosted by the Australian School of Meditation and Yoga, this annual community conscious event was hosted by the Royal International Convention Centre. Those who visited the Yoga Day Festival chose to stay at the one of the many Bowen Hills hotels in close proximity to the festival such as Oaks Mews. With asanas that increase the flexibility of your body, balance hormones and tone and strengthen muscles, yoga is also known to promote harmony between communities by improving the nature of one’s consciousness. Yoga is also known to act as a great stress buster. The event attracted members of the communities of all ages. The first International Yoga Day was held on the 21st of June 2015 as declared by the United Nations.
