Zanzibar Island

Zanzibar May Soon Convert into an Organic Island

Travellers planning to enter the land of Tanzania can now relax and spend their vacation at The Residence Zanzibar, a hotel on an island which may soon be declared organic. This recent call for branding of this archipelago as an organic island aims to attract global traders and tourists, which will likely increase the number of arrivals, investments and events in Zanzibar.

Farmers, together with entrepreneurs made the call to the government at the ‘annual public-private dialogue on protecting MSMEs and other tourism-related issues, enhancing local content in tourism value chain’. The local farmers firmly believe that the growing demand for organic products in the world will benefit the island if the government lends a hand of support. The Chairman of the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), Mr Ali Amour assured the locals that the request would be forwarded to the government for consideration.
