As October draws closer, beer lovers around the world get ready to celebrate the now world famous German beer festival known as Oktoberfest. However, another unique beer festival is also set to take place during this time in Australia; the Porttoberfest Beer Festival. Since its inception in 2007, this annual festival in Port Douglas, North Queensland has grown in popularity with each passing year offering visitors a chance to sample a wide range of Australian and international beers. The 2015 Porttoberfest Beer Festival is scheduled to take place on 17th October at the lively Reef Marina and visitors planning to attend and looking for nearby hotels in Port Douglas can consider Oaks Lagoons. Past festivals have not only included a diverse variety of beers but a host of other fascinating features as well including beer related merchandise, live entertainment, costume competitions, German dancers and a delectable array of food.
