30-Day Visa Exemption Reinstated in Thailand – Added 30-Day Extension Also on Offer

From 1st April 2023, Thailand reinstated its 30-day visa exemption policy, applicable for tourists from around 60 nations; these include those from Australia, the UK, the United States, Europe and other select destinations. Previously, the exemption period was 45 days for tourists from these countries as part of an initiative to encourage more visitors. While the new policy reduces the number of days, these travellers can still extend their trip for a further 30 days once they pass through immigration.

Meanwhile, the visa-on-arrival policy was back to 15 days from the previous 30 days, though it has been reported that the Tourism Authority of Thailand is planning to propose a revision of the visa programme; this will be done to draw more travellers who can once more enjoy the best of the country including its cosmopolitan capital where they can enjoy safe accommodation at properties like Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel. For those based at such an ideally located Riverside hotel, Bangkok can be easily experienced be it for business, sightseeing, shopping, or nightlife.
