Upon invitation from the Ambassador of India to the UAE, diplomats and ambassadors from 30 countries visited the under-construction site of the BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. This marks the first Hindu temple built on UAE soil, a historic moment. The visit was conducted with the goal of observing the temple’s progress and revitalising dialogue centred around harmony and humanity. The diplomats were left impressed by the detail-oriented carvings that denoted various cultures and the beautiful architecture of the temple itself.
The temple is still under construction, with over 400,000 hours put into it. There are Satsang events every Sunday that you can sign up to, and experience Hindu traditions. Satsang is a gathering of people to perform various devout activities, such as the brick pooja. Being away from the city and more towards the desert, it is about a 40-minute drive from hotel apartments in Abu Dhabi, so if you are staying in a property such as Oaks Liwa Executive Suites, ensure you arrange the necessary travel modes to take you to visit the temple.
