The Nilaveli hotel community came together on the 21st of September for a Holy Christian Mass to give thanks and celebrate the blessings which the community has experienced over the past years. The Mass also commemorated the lives of hoteliers and staff who passed away during the 2004 Tsunami. The Holy Mass was attended approximately by 80 people, including special invitees, the directors, staff and hotel guests of Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa and many other Sri Lankan beach hotels. Nilaveli is home to a wide variety of resorts and hotels; a cluster which makes up a significantly large proportion of the hotel community within Trincomalee and overall within the Eastern province of Sri Lanka. The Holy Mass was graciously hosted by Rev. Fr. Yogeswaran of the Trincomalee Jesuits Church.
